Escambia County is located in the westernmost tip of the state of Florida. The population of the county is estimated to be around 296,000. Pensacola is the county's most populated aria as well as the county seat. The county is also home to the first United States Naval Air Station. The major law enforcement for the county is the City of Pensacola Police Department. Like most of the counties in Florida, the police department works side by side with the local sheriff's office and the Florida Highway Patrol.

 

Recent statistics have shown that the Escambia County's Sheriff's Office is very aggressive when it comes to enforcing the laws. In recent years over 9,000 criminal violations were issued and out of these over 1,000 of them were for driving under the influence. A large portion of the citations that have been issued in Escambia County are for people driving without a valid license. Florida Highway Patrol is also responsible for helping with some of these arrests. In Escambia County, Florida Highway Patrol uses fixed winged aircraft that will clock one's speed. If one is founded to be speeding, the aircraft will radio to a patrol car to pull over that individual.
